The FNB Joburg Art Fair took place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg from September 7 to 10, 2017. Now in its tenth year, the fair continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the contemporary arts landscape in Africa and provides a space for leading artists, galleries, collectors, writers, thinkers and art lovers to congregate.
A special feature of this year's fair included an exhibit by Cartier entitled 'When the Ordinary Becomes Precious'. Luxe Noir was invited to an exclusive preview of the exhibit which showcased work produced by students from 'The Artist Proof Studio and the Market Photo Workshop in Johannesburg. The brief was to create a body of work inspired by the brand's Juste un Clou collection. The exhibit was a success and we are pleased to see the global brand collaborating with such talented, young African artists.
